'Sugar-Coated Embroidery' is a collection of sugar dresses, designed by sugar-stylist Filipe Blanquet. His designs were inspired by traditional portuguese embroidery and motifs. The collection was presented to the public in a choreographed show that mixed fashion with theater and live music.
The connecting theme of the show was born from the traditional tales of men taken by the sea and the grieving women they left behind. With this in mind I was asked to create a short film to be shown at the very start of the show, depicting a woman who waits by the sea for the return of her lover. I also created a trailer to promote the show and directed a behind the scenes look at the official photoshoot (by photographer Sara Palma) for the collection.
